When you’re running a charity event, you usually spend a lot of time emailing sponsors and trying to find people who will give you stuff so that you can give it away and auction it off for charity. This can be trying and drawn out. But sometimes, sometimes something magical happens. FrozenQ is that kind of magic. After seeing nik harron’s “Boom! Headshot” on reddit, they were determined to participate, and had a great idea that I will reveal after the jump.
Our top fundraisers, either in the LAN party or online, will receive these one of a kind badass trophies. One of them is reserved for the ulimate badass, the big dog who raises the most for Child’s Play though Headshots from the Heart. I’ll admit, I was skeptical. The phrase “People on reddit want to make us trophies” wasn’t something I’d heard before. Then I got this.
That’s right. FrozenQ PC shop, run by Alex Quaintance, designed and shipped us those bad boys. One of them could be yours when we count up the final tally. Surely they’re some kind of custom trophy design place, but no, it’s actually much cooler than that. FrozenQ designs and sells case mods for hard core gamers. You may think you’re hard core, sure, you play Modern Warfare or Minecraft like it’s your job most days, but do you have a laser etched case, or a liquid cooled PC? FrozenQ is the shop that can fix that.
They sell cases, reservoirs, pumps and waterblocks, as well as operating a laser etching service. If your PC is your pride and joy, you can show it some real love while amazing your friends and confounding your enemies (We know this great LAN party that’s the perfect occasion). The a 3200 sq. foot production facility, FrozenQ manufactures all of its parts in the United States, rather than sending the work overseas.
All in all, Alex Quaintance and his FrozenQ crew love games and they love charity, and they’re as interested as we are in using games, especially first person shooters, to do some good. Like us, all of their headshots come from the heart.
